WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The federal budget deal announced last week, will include spending $738 billion on defense, a three percent increase from this year.
South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says it is all about national security.
Rounds says they are still working to rebuild military assets.
Rounds, a member of the Armed Services Committee, says more needs to be spent on defense.
The defense bill is about $12 billion short of what Congressional Republicans had wanted.
