PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- SD511– whether it be the website, phone service or mobile app– is a free tool many people in South Dakota use to check road conditions in the winter.
State Department of Transportation Secretary Joel Jundt says it’s the department’s snowplow drivers inputting much of the information.
Jundt says they keep information on the 511 platforms as updated as possible.
Even if snowplows aren’t out, Jundt says his team members are still updating 511.
Jundt says his team members also update 511 with road construction information on state roadways, as well as about other things that may be blocking the flow of traffic such as an accident.
