Sioux Falls, SD (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University swim team concluded the first day of the NSIC Championships with Lilly Grebner claiming the NSIC Champion in the 200 IM while also notching a NCAA ‘B’ cut time. The Wolves finished the day in ninth place with 77 points.
WOLVES HIGHLIGHTS
- Lilly Grebner kicked off the day with a first-place finish in the 200 IM hitting the wall at 2:04.32; Grebner’s time qualified under the NCAA ‘B’ cut standard
- In the 50 free Haley Osborne finished in 14th place with a time of 24.06
- The team of Maddie Gonzales, Grebner, Alexia Hoven, and Osborne took ninth place in the 200 medley relay with a school record of1:47.81
- The Wolves took 17th place in the 200 IM relay recording a time of 1:55.00; relay members included Mia Fursedonne, Hilary Sonnabend, Georgy Turner, and Stella Bullis
- In the 800 free relay the of team of Brianna Back, Gonzales, Annalise Olsson, and Tayla Liddle took eighth place with a time of 8:06.84
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The 200 free relay team broke the previous school record of 1:47.96 set in 2023 by a team of Maddie Gonzales, Mayson Sheldon, Lauren Forsyth, Delaney Ryken
- Osborne recorded a new personal best in the 50 free with a time of 24.06
- Turner notched a new personal best in the 200 IM hitting the wall at 2:20.45
- Hoven recorded a time of 25.80 in the 50 free for a new personal best
- Fursedonne recorded a new personal best in the 50 free with a time of 25.00
