Wolves Drop Game Four Against Mavericks

Sioux Falls, SD (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University baseball team dropped to Minnesota State, 15-3 in the series finale. A strong few innings for the Mavericks proved to be the difference in the contest as Minnesota State was able to stretch out the innings with timely hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1

  • After the two scoreless innings, Minnesota State was the first to score in the third inning with four runs
  • In the bottom of the third, Brennan Phillips drove one to right field for a single to score Michael Benevides
  • The Wolves cut the Mavericks lead in half in the bottom of the third after a line out to the center fielder by Nick Friedges that scored Jordan DeMarce

  • Michael Benevides notched his first homerun of the year over the right field fence in the fifth inning
