CONDE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Department of Public Safety announced the names of those involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash near Conde, South Dakota on Tuesday.

Early crash information shows that around 4:48 p.m., a 2021 CanAm Defender UTV driven by 77-year-old Robert Tennis of Conde turned in front of a westbound Peterbilt truck driven by 60-year-old Jeffrey Miles of Conde on SD Highway 20, about 9 miles southwest of Conde.

The truck struck the UTV, causing it to roll into the ditch.

Tennis died from his injuries.

Miles was not injured and charges are pending.

South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
