A celebration of life for Steve Grote, 63, of rural Mina, SD, will be held at Wylie Park, on Saturday, August 31, 2024. A hog roast will be served at 2:00pm. Inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Aberdeen, at a later date. Steve died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Sanford USD Medical Center and Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD.

Steven Allen Grote was born February 21, 1961, to Dale Allen and Ramona (Arndt) Grote. He grew up on the family farm and attended Richland Township Country School. He later attended school in Warner, graduating from Warner High School. Steve farmed with his father until his passing, and later farmed with his brother Michael.

Steve enjoyed going for drives and was always willing to run errands. He enjoyed working and shopping on his computer. Steve was kindhearted and willing to help his neighbors and brother when needed. He had many close friends. Farming was Steve’s life. He loved haying and his cattle were his pride.

Grateful for having shared Steve’s life are his mother, Ramona Grote, siblings, Michael Grote (fiancé Michele Gran) and Chelle (Guy) Allen, nieces and nephews: David (Kristin) Grote, Susie (Dustin) Klapperich, and Brandon Galbraith, great-nieces and nephews: Taelyn Grote, Maddon Klapperich and Maesyn Klapperich, and his aunt Delores ‘Dory’ Bullert.

Preceding Steve in death are his father Dale Grote, grandparents Donna & Arnold Arndt and Fred & Marvel Grote, his uncle John Arndt, sister-in-law Kimberly Grote, and special friend Kristi Brick.
