SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- Over four-hundred teachers are converging on Sioux Falls for the next two days.
The State Education Department is hosting a Civics and History Summit.
It’s all part of the process of developing curriculum to comply with new Social Studies standards approved last year.
Kim Poppinga (POP-in-guh), Middle School Curriculum Coordinator for the Sioux Falls School District, says the gathering will help her team begin working on curriculum.
Schools will work on curriculum throughout the next school year and roll it out to students in the fall of 2025.
