ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – There are teams’ that are hot on offense, and then there are the Aberdeen Smittys.

On Tuesday in a doubleheader sweep, the Smittys put together 33 runs in the two game sweep of Post 307; for an encore, they put together 39 runs in a two game drubbing of Rapid City Post 320 on Thursday afternoon from Fossum Field, winning game one 23-3 and then 16-6 in game two.

At the plate, it was as if the Smittys batters were making contact with a beach ball, Cooper Eisenbeisz was a perfect 4-4 at the plate with three runs scored & a game high six RBI. Casey Vining went yard + was 3-5 and three runs scored & three RBI. Drew Salfrank continued his tear, going 4-5 with four runs scored & three runs batted in. Phillip Zens was steady on the mound going a complete five innings of work & surrendering a pair of earned runs, but also striking out seven in the 20 run victory.

In game two, the Smittys put up four runs in each of their innings when they were up at bat. Lance Siefken was the latest Smittys baller to have a day at the dish; going 2-2 with five runs batted in. Casey Vining went another perfect 2-2 with four runs scored & another HR + two RBI. Joran Foss got into the act, a perfect 4-4 with a pair of times touching home plate & four RBI’s.

With the sweep of Rapid City Post 320 on Thursday, the Aberdeen Smittys have now won ten straight games & in this stretch, they’ve outscored their opponents 154-28. The same two teams will tussle again on Friday morning from Fossum Field, with first pitch at 11a. The game will once again by broadcast on HubCityRadio.com with Ryan Martin on the call.
