ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – With an on field temperature reaching 97 degrees at Fossum Field, the Aberdeen Smittys offense continued to follow suit; dismantling the Sioux Falls Post 15 squad in a mid-week doubleheader, winning game one, 15-0 and then 16-1 in the second contest.

In the first game of the twinbill, the Smittys struck early & then scored often. After putting down the side in the first inning, Aberdeen put up three in the bottom of the first frame. Three outs later, the Smittys offense was back at it & put up a crooked number seven in the bottom half of the second & then hit cruise control. Drew Salfrank picked up the win on the mound, going a complete game with four innings of work & only surrendering a pair of hits, while striking out two. He also helped his cause at the plate, going 1-3 with three runs scored & also driving in two. But the man of the day on offense was Casey Vining. The Northern State product went 3-4 with two runs scored & 5RBI + a HR.

In game two, the pitching staff & starter Cooper Eisenbeisz put Post 15 on lock down. Eisenbeisz recorded all but one out over the four inning affair and fanned six hitters and scattered three hits over three & two thirds innings of work. When the ball was put in play, the defense behind him was excellent; the Smittys defense did their job and played error free baseball. It was a big day for Phillip Zens at the dish, going a perfect 3-3 with three runs scored & also driving in three. Designated hitter Joran Foss was 1-2 with a run scored and he also drove in three.

Of the eight innings played over two games, the Smittys put up runs in every inning, but the third inning of game one.
