SDGA Junior Tour (NE Leg) @ Moccasin Creek CC in Aberdeen; GGID: JTMOCCASIN24

ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – On Monday in the heat and humidity on the links & temperatures reaching 94 degrees, the next leg of the SDGA Junior Tour was held at Moccasin Creek Country Club in the Hub City. Many local & regional golfers put together some outstanding rounds of golf & one hailing from Aberdeen was the only golfer to shoot under par.

In the boys 12-13 age bracket, Aberdeen’s Hayden Liebl was the leader in the club house, shooting a [+9, 81] for the day. In the same age grouping, but for the girls, Faith Roehrich of Watertown carded a [+17, 89] for the afternoon, while Kenzley Heath of Sisseton finished in second place.

In the girls 14-15 Claire Heil of Mobridge finished in first, while Delany Johnson of Aberdeen was just two strokes behind her, with a +36 for the day. In the boys 14-15 age bracket, Seth Lesnar had the best round of the day for any of the boys in any age bracket. Lesnar shot a [+3, 75] with birdies on holes six & 11. Cole Brust of Aberdeen was just one stroke behind Lesnar, with a [+4, 76].

In the final age grouping, the girls 16-18, it was a show put on by the Aberdonians. Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun shot the best score of any golfer for the day for both the boys & girls. She was the only player who carded an under par score, with a [-4, 68]. She played nearly error free golf, just one bogey on the par three fourth hole, but she more than made up for it. Braun picked up a birdies on the par four third hole, the par four seventh hole, plus holes 12 & 15 (both par fours) and she finished the day with a birdie on the 18^th hole, a par five.

Her Aberdeen Central teammate Emma Dohrer was [+11] with an 83 & Aberdeen Roncalli’s Claire Crawford shot a [+12] with and 84.

For the boys 16-18 age grouping, Brevin Fliehs of Groton carded a [+5] with a 77 to finish in first place for the day. For more individual notes, check out the leaderboard below.
