IOWA(HubCityRadio)- Earlier this week, Summit Carbon Solution received the go ahead for their CO2 pipeline in the state of Iowa from the Iowa Utility Board. CEO Lee Blank appeared on Agritalk hosted by Chip Flory to update what’s happening elsewhere in the region.
Blank was grateful for what the IUB did for them.

In South Dakota, Blank believes they will start the process in July.
In Nebraska where there is no utility commissions, Blank said they will get that started once South Dakota is determined.

The key issue involving all the locations is the issue of eminent domain. Blank informed Agritalk that they are still trying to avoid using that only as a last resort.
Reminder, that petitions in South Dakota have been turned in for the referendum to repeal SB201 that deals with local control. The Secretary of State’s office are going through signature to make sure this does appear on the ballot.
