South Dakota Game, Fish, & Park Commission to address minimum pounds per inch for air-powered guns

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The South Dakota, Game, Fish and Parks Commission will consider finalization of a proposal decrease the minimum pounds per square inch needed for an air-powered gun from one-thousand to 600 p-s-i.  G-F-and-P Law Enforcement Chief Sam Schelhaas says the proposal has been working through since last year.

There have been no changes between the proposals first and second readings.  Commissioner Robert Whitmyre asked Schelhaas if a minimum p-s-i is even needed.

Schelhaas deferred to the knowledge of the man who recommended the change.

Commissioner Bruce Cull says some sort of restriction needs to be in place.

The Game, Fish and Parks Commission will consider finalization of the petition at it’s meeting Thursday and Friday at Good Earth State Park near Sioux Falls.
