LARCHWOOD, IA (HubCityRadio.com) – It was a three way tie for first place after day one of the Sanford Futures Championship in Larchwood, but after 18 holes on day two, it was Clark’s Brynn Roehrich who would pick up the win by a pair of strokes over Miller’s Jayce Pugh and three strokes over Olivia Braun of Aberdeen.
After four bogeys on the front nine on the first day, Roehrich cut that number in half on Tuesday and added three birdies. On the back nine, she carded a pair of bogeys and one double bogey, but finished the round strong with a birdie on the 17th hole. Miller’s Jayce Pugh finished two strokes behind her, with a pair of birdies for the round, but just couldn’t make up enough ground on Roehrich; as Pugh had six bogeys on the day.
As for Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun, starting the day tied with both Roehrich & Pugh, she would card a +5 for the day and +10 for the tournament and three strokes off first place. Braun had five birdies on the round, but in playing a bit of catch-up, also had eight bogeys and one double bogey for the afternoon.
Aberdeen Roncalli’s Claire Crawford finished in 13th place for the day, she would shave 10 strokes off her game from day one to day two. She had four triple bogeys on Monday and zero on Tuesday.
