Aberdeen City Council approve BID Tax increase

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council Monday night had their second reading on an ordinance addressing the BID Tax increase from four cents to six cents per square feet.

Aberdeen City Attorney Ron Wager(Wag-er) told the council about an agreement reached by the Aberdeen Downtown Association and the Parks board.

Wager notified the council that the Parks Board has approved the agreement with ADA.

Councilman David Novstrup commented on the BID packets that now posted online on the city’s website.

The City Council approved it on a 7-1 vote.  Councilman Justin Reinbold wasn’t at the meeting but did vote in favor two weeks ago.  The only nay vote was Councilman Ron Ronayne who also opposed it two weeks ago.

The ordinance is scheduled to go into effect on September 10th.
