Preview of Amendment H(Open Primary) on the ballot in November

RAPID CITY, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Coming up this November, the citizens of South Dakota will be voting on Amendment H or the Open Primary Amendment.

Director of South Dakota Family Voice, Norman Woods is out informing the public the pro and cons of this Amendment.

Woods talks about how the group got involved with Amendment H.

Woods discuss if the amendment would lead to more debates prior to the primaries.

Democratic leadership in South Dakota are opposed to it.  Woods explains why that could be the case.

Woods explains some of the advantages of Amendment H if passed.

One issue proponents are saying is about the people of South Dakota funding elections that they may not be voting in.  Woods discuss that.

Woods compared this amendment to what’s happening in California, Washington, & to a certain extent in Nebraska.

Woods explains that one negative is the amendment will lead to less diversity within either the Republican or Democratic Party.
