ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- On Sept. 8, in the early morning, officers with the Aberdeen Police Department were dispatched to a report of a stabbing in the 600 block of S. Grand Street. When officers arrived, they encountered both the victim and a subject suspected of doing the stabbing.
A 52-year-old female was transported by ambulance to Avera hospital and treated for multiple stab wounds to legs, hands, arms, back, and torso. The victim was treated and released from the hospital. She is expected to recover fully.
The 53-year-old male suspect was taken into custody and booked on felony assault charges. The suspect and the victim knew each other and there was no danger to the public. The Aberdeen Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
