Burnsville, Minn (nsuwolves.com/northernsun.org). – In the first installment of the 2024 NSIC Volleyball Players of the Week, Northern State’s Abby Meister and Keri Walker were honored. Meister tallied defensive player of the week honors, while Walker grabbed setter of the week accolades.

Meister led the Northern State defense with 87 digs in their 4-win weekend. She tallied double digit digs in each contest, closing out the weekend with three straight 20-plus dig matches. The junior averaged 6.21 digs per set. In addition, she recorded a perfect serve reception percentage in 35 total attempts and notched seven assists, two aces, and one kill.

Walker paced Northern State to a 4-win weekend averaging 11.93 assists per set. She recorded 167 total assists and the Wolves hit .314 as a team. The graduate student added a team leading six aces, as well as six kills. In addition, she was an asset defensively with 47 digs, averaging 3.36 per set, and 7.0 blocks. Walker tallied two matches averaging over 13.00 assists per set.
