LifeServe hosting blood drives across South Dakota

SOUTH DAKOTA(DRGNews)- The blood supply in the region is once again critically low.

LifeServe Blood Center Territory Representative Abbie Arneson says anytime there’s a holiday and they can’t hold blood drives, it creates a shortage in their supply.

Arneson says LifeServe is holding blood drives around South Dakota this month. She says people can find a list of dates and locations, make an appointment or fill out the health questionnaire, all from their website.

In January 2022, Avera switched it’s blood supplier from Vitalant to LifeServe, making LifeServe the only supplier of blood and blood products for all of Avera’s hospitals in South Dakota.

LifeServe to host Business After Hour Mixer in Aberdeen on Thursday.
