WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- 33-year-old Charles Michael Taylor, was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison on September 11, 2024, following his conviction on burglary and aggravated assault charges. Taylor had been accused of a series of offenses that occurred on March 1, 2024, including entering occupied homes, assault, and damaging property.

Taylor had initially pleaded not guilty to all charges but later changed his plea to guilty on two counts: Burglary and Aggravated Assault.

As part of the sentencing, Taylor will serve 15 years in the South Dakota State Penitentiary. However, three years of his sentence have been suspended, meaning 12 years. Additionally, Taylor was ordered to pay court costs and fines totaling $116.50.
