Recap of District 1 House Candidate Forum held Saturday

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Candidates looking to representing District 1 held their candidate forum Saturday at the K.O.Lee Library.  All the candidates are seeking their first term in the South Dakota Legislature.  They are the following:  Republicans Christopher Reder & Logan Manhart, Democrats Steven McCleerey(who looking to return to the legislature) & Mark Sumption, and Libertarians Tamara(Ta-Mar-A) Lesnar & Josh Dennert.

A number of different topics were addressed.  The candidates did offered their stance on Referred Law 21.  They addressed that at the Brown County Fair back in August.  The two Libertarians who were unable to attend also responded.  You can check those recaps at these HubCityRadio news pages:

Governor’s use of Future Fund:

The question was brought up following South Dakota Searchlight’s story addressing Governor Noem’s use of the future fund for a shooting range near Rapid City that the South Dakota Legislature has constantly been opposed to.
