Sioux Falls schools & police addressing threats done on social media

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- Sioux Falls School and Police officials are fighting back against social media threats that are disrupting schools across the nation.

Superintendent Jane Stavem (STAY-vum) and Police Chief Jon Thum (TOOM) released a joint statement on YouTube addressing the problem.

If you receive a social media message threatening a school, they say you should report it…and NOT repost it.

Students who spread threats face school discipline and possible legal action.
