Falcon Heights, MN (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University cross country teams took on the 38th running of the Roy Griak Invite on Friday. The men kicked off the competition with a 17th place finish, clocking in an average time of 28:40.0 in the 8k. Four Wolves crossed the finish line for the NSU women, notching an average time of 25:27.0.
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Nathan Alto led the way taking 34th with a time of 26:58.2; he sat in the top-20 for the first half of competition
- Evan Halbe and Jacob Angerhofer crossed the finish line in 28:27.5 and 28:51.6 in 118th and 153rd
- Bailen Hayford and David VanVeen rounded out the Wolves top-5 with times of 29:14.7 and 29:47.9 respectively
WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Abby Hasart led the attack for the women, recording a time of 24:21.5 in 42nd overall
- Emaleigh Olesiak and Summer Carlson followed with times of 24:36.0 and 26:03.2 taking 55th and 135th, while Payton Kemnitz rounded out the team with a time of 28:49.6

Northern State returns to action for a full weekend opening the month of October. The Wolves will run in the Jimmie Invite on Friday, October 4. NSU will then host the annual Steps for Shep race on Saturday, October 5.
