SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- People ordering prescriptions from online pharmacies may be getting more than they bargained for…and it could cost them their lives.

The Justice Department has indicted a number of individuals for selling counterfeit prescription drugs online.

The CDC is warning against online purchases, because some of the unregulated drugs contain fentanyl.

That warning is echoed by Lewis Drug owner Mark Griffin.

The CDC says people ordering drugs from illegal pharmacies are at risk of a deadly overdose.
