SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- Monday marked one year since Hamas attacked Israel, killing thousands, taking hundreds of hostages, and setting off the war between the two sides that continues to this day.

In the weeks that followed, antisemitic acts flared up on college campuses and spread across the U-S.

Stephen (STEVE-en) Rosenthal is part of South Dakota’s Jewish community.

He says they’re small in number, but feel safe.

Rosenthal says Jewish people are thankful for the action taken by the Governor and Legislature to adopt a measure defining antisemitism in state law.

Rosenthal is part of the Jewish Community in Sioux Falls.
