SD Dept of Health sponsor program to promote employment in medical field

PIERRE, S.D.(KELO)- The South Dakota Health Department is trying to help Middle and High School students dream about a career in the medical field.

The Department is helping sponsor more than 30 “Scrub Camps” for High Schoolers, and “Camp Meds” for Middle Schoolers.

Health Secretary Melissa Magstadt says clinics and hospitals need help, and for students, the possibilities are endless.

Magstadt says the camps have become a valuable work force development tool for the medical field.
