Life Defense Fund celebrate defeat of Amendment G

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Tuesday night, South Dakota voters defeated Amendment G which looked to codify abortion into the South Dakota Constitution.

Life Defense Fund Spokesperson Caroline Woods talks about South Dakota & Nebraska the only states in the country to have abortion on the ballot and lose by a majority vote.

Florida also had an abortion amendment on their ballot and failed.  However, Florida law require a 60% vote to put it in the state constitution.  The vote was only 57% in favor.

Woods believe the voters sent a message.

Woods remind the listeners that if the amendment did pass, it would have been difficult to change going forward.

With the amendment failing, question was asked about their lawsuit with Dakotans for Health involving petitions.  Woods provide an update on that.

The future of Life Defense Fund will become more clear once legal matters are settled.
