FORT PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – The City of Fort Pierre may have an opportunity in the future to cash in on a touring group of motor coach enthusiasts. Shane Kramme, Vice President and General Manager of the Fort Pierre Chamber of Commerce told the Fort Pierre City Council Monday night about a phone call he had a month ago from the group’s Vice President.
Gary Milner is Vice President of the Midwest Area Cooperative of the Family Motor Coach Association. He told Kramme the group would come in, the city act as a host with food and entertainment and he would write the city a check to cover the costs.
The group would need approximately 250 full electric and water hook-ups in one location so they could stay as one caravan of coaches. The group is looking for a South Dakota stop over as the Association visits the Midwestern states of South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and multiple Canadian provinces. Fort Pierre City Councilman Larry Cronin says it could be a good opportunity for the city.
Kramme’s presentation was for informational purposes only and the Fort Pierre City Council took no action on the idea.
