ELLENDALE, N.D.(KELO)- The growth of Artificial Intelligence is viewed as both promising and threatening…and for some cities – very profitable.

Case in point is Ellendale, North Dakota…just north of Aberdeen.

The town of 11-hundred people suddenly finds itself in the midst of a huge economic expansion.

Applied Digital is building a large facility there.

Company spokesman Nick Phillips says the impact can already be seen.

Phillips says job opportunities abound.

Phillips’ comments came at a South Dakota Public Utilities Commission hearing.

The PUC is trying to get its arms around the growing power generation and transmission needs for the future.
