ROSCOE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – A Pasture Tour is scheduled in Edmunds County on Tuesday morning, Aug. 27.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to Noon at the Jonathan Rohrbach farm located 5 miles north and 5.5 miles east of Roscoe or 5 miles north and 1.5 miles west of Beebe Corner.
Meshele Townsend, Edmunds County Conservation District Manager, talked about benefits of the event.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m. There will be light refreshments. The tour will include a grazing stick demonstration, discussions led by a range specialist and a grazing specialist, and also include a rainfall simulator. It will wrap up with a light lunch.
There is no cost to attend.
The event is sponsored by the South Dakota Soil Health Coalition, S.D. Grassland Coalition, the USDA National Resources Conservation Service, SDSU Extension and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Townsend said the tour has generated a lot of interest.
