Teddy Bear toss for Salvation Army done at Watertown Shamrock game

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- Deputy Mayor Councilman Randy Tupper was part of the inaugural Teddy Bear Toss at last Saturday’s Watertown Shamrocks hockey game at the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena that collected over 600 bears and $330 for the Salvation Army of Watertown.

Deputy Mayor Randy Tupper:

A call that caused some frustration brought in the few boxes of bears.

At the end of the game, all the teddy bears were thrown out on the ice.

On the Shamrocks Facebook page, it was reported they collected 612 teddy bears, many additional angel tree gifts, and $330 to donate to the Salvation Army.

Tupper wraps up by reminding people to support local businesses within their community as often as possible.

The Watertown Shamrocks thanked all the fans for supporting the event and Watertown Ford Chrysler, and the Watertown Lakers Hockey Association for becoming active clean-up crews.
