Aberdeen City Council address resolution to deal with potential loan for upgrade of water reclamation facility

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Monday night’s Aberdeen City Council meeting, the council addressed resolution dealing with funding for improvements to the water reclamation plant.

Aberdeen Finance Director Jordan McQuillen:

Community Development Specialist for Northeast Council of Government(NECOG) Lesleann Palmer talks about the purpose of the $30 million loan.

Palmer believes the DANR(Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources) will likely not approve the loan when they hear it in March but wants to work with the city of Aberdeen,

McQuillen was asked how this could impact the rates for water usage in the Aberdeen that was approved earlier this year.

McQuillen project when the construction of this project is scheduled to begin.

In a separate resolution, McQuillen talks about recovery funds for Phase 1 project for the Water Reclamation Facility.

Both resolutions were approved by the Aberdeen City Council.
