BROOKINGS, S.D. (KJJQ) – Brookings Representative Tim Reed is chair of one of several legislative subcommittees looking into mental health issues.
The “Increase Community Services and Caregiver Supports” group has met once. Reed says they’re trying to determine what sort of residential services are available for those with mental health issues.
Reed says they can then fall back into bad habits.
He also wants to look into peer services.
Reed says these issues are being looked at across the country and it’s clear there is no magic solution.
Reed’s subcommittee meets again next Thursday.
