Watertown Mayor Holien undecided about whether to seek re-election

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)–Mayor Ried Holien says he hasn’t made a decision yet on whether to run for another four year term as Watertown mayor, but a decision will be coming soon.

Holien is a former State Senator who chose not to run for re-election to that position due to the desire to spend more time with his family.

Prior to becoming mayor, he was a member of Watertown’s City Council.

He says the job of mayor requires many hours, is demanding and can be stressful, but at the same time he enjoys being part of the accomplishments that make Watertown a better place to live.

Watertown’s municipal elections will be held June 17th.

Holien says he expects to make a decision on whether to run again by early February.
