PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The home of Governor Larry Rhoden is getting a refresh this summer. Not the Governor’s hometown of Union Center, but his temporary digs in Pierre. Deputy State Engineer Christine Day told the Capital Complex Beautification and Restoration Commission Wednesday that the Governor’s Residence is in line for a new exterior.
The recommendation is for the black roofing with a medium gray siding black soffit and fascia.
Pierre Mayor Steve Harding is a member of the Committee and says it’s hard to believe the time has come to make the improvements.
A specific start date for the project is unknown but the re-roofing and re-siding of the Governor’s residence will happen this summer.
