Frederick man arrested in Hughes County Monday

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The Hughes County Sheriff Office and other central South Dakota law enforcement has aided in the capture of a Frederick man wanted in Brown County for sexual assault.

Sheriff Partrick Callahan says 46 year-old Daniel Robert Napton was arrested after his vehicle was spotted by an alert citizen after the vehicle was spotted in Blunt.

After some brief surveillance of the vehicle while a capture team was put together, Deputies, along with agents from the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and Troopers from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

An arrest warrant was issued for Napton in Brown County on a count of Second Degree Rape.   Napton was apprehended shortly after noon on Monday.  He was taken to the Hughes County Jail and is being held on a 25-thousand dollar cash bond.
