Sioux Falls Mayor Paul Tenhaken deliver 2026 city budget

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- The city of Sioux Falls is growing…but its budget isn’t.

Mayor Paul Tenhaken delivered his final budget address Thursday.

The 775-million dollar package includes more public safety personnel, a new fire station and 120-million dollars worth of road projects.

The Mayor says a new state law capping property tax increases is making its presence known.

The city’s population grew by over two and a half percent last year.

The Mayor says the city is on track to have over a billion dollars worth of new

 construction permits again this year.
