Citizens address concerns about two-way Main Street

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At the start of Monday’s Aberdeen City Council meeting, citizens along 6th Avenue and South Main Street expressed concerns about a potential two-way Main Street that could begin construction next year.

Brent Fischer, owner of A-1 Locksmithing:

Fischer believe two-way Main could lead to more traffic but not convinced it will lead to more business.

Fischer has been asking customers coming in his business what their views about two=way Main.

Fischer feels there is a group of people who are not speaking on behalf of the city and feels the money being spent could be used for more important projects.

Another citizen, Darin Duvall, owner of Domino’s also feels this will have a negative impact on his business.

Representative Al Novstrup who owns Allevity that is near the Aberdeen Mall gives two reasons why he’s against the project.

At the end of the council meeting, City Manager Robin Bobzien suggest a work session to address this issue.

Work session has been scheduled for 5pm on Monday, September 8th to further address the issue.
