HURON, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – As the season continues to progress, the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers are doing the exact same. On Thursday from Huron, the Cavs would split a pair of duals; falling to Madison 7-2 & then downing the hosts, the Huron Tigers 6-3.
“Against Huron, Keira & Gianna were both down & were able to take control and finish out the matches. Our two & three doubles were able to avenge earlier season losses to Huron so that feels pretty good,” said head coach Jonah Dignan.
Against Madison earlier in the year, the Cavs had a tough go, but Dignan says you can see the growth from then to today: “We didn’t score a game there last time & today, were able to take seven collectively. Gianna was down in her singles match but pulled together and got it to a tiebreaker, where she got the win.”
The Cavs got 2-0 days in singles pay from Gianna Cihak & Abby Andersen. Andersen won (10-3) & (10-1) and Dignan said she had quite the day, “she won both singles matches and was in control pretty much the whole time.”
Roncalli will enjoy the weekend off & then return to the courts next Tuesday in Pierre against Pierre TF Riggs & Rapid City Central.
