Since shoulder season travel is outside of more populated times smaller crowds are just one advantage to looking at traveling in the spring and fall.

Steward says in general prices on everything from plane tickets to hotels and trip packages can be more affordable in the shoulder seasons.  If you’re a road tripper, it can be better for your vehicle too,

Many places that are busy in the summer or winter will host cultural or food festivals in the spring and fall to provide a glimpse of local cuisines and traditions.
