ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- In the last Aberdeen City Council on September 22nd, the Aberdeen City Council voted in favor of funding for the two-way Main Street on a 5-4 vote.  Since then, petitions are being gathered to place on the ballot for voters in Aberdeen to decide.

Communication:

Sheldon talks about when she was informed that the budget was going to include funding for two-way Main Street.

Sheldon & Sommers wished they could have communicated better with those directly impacted by this.

Fischer talked about when he was informed about this.

Parking:

Fischer expressed concerns about how some parking will be eliminated by this proposal.

Sheldon & Sommers discuss the impact to parking with the plan.

Safety:

Fischer feels this will not make the street safer.

Sommers feels this will lead to safer pedestrian traffic.

Coming up on Monday, the Aberdeen City Council will put on the agenda an opportunity to repeal this resolution and introduce a new resolution keeping Main Street one way.
