WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The White House released a memo outlining details of the controversial call between President Trump and the President of Ukraine. The call, in which the President is alleged to have asked for Ukrainian help in investigating possible corruption by former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, is the focus of the impeachment inquiry by House Democrats.

South Dakota Senator John Thune says everyone should slow down.

Thune says they expect to hear from the government whistleblower that started the inquiry.

Thune was in the U.S. House when President Bill Clinton was impeached in 1998.

If President Trump is impeached by the House, the Senate would sit as the jury. Thune says he is keeping an open mind.
