South Dakota Senate passes SB111

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Tuesday, the South Dakota Senate discussed SB111.  The bill would require that social media companies provide collected personal data of a user at the user’s request and maintain transparent interoperability interfaces.

Prime sponsor of the bill was District 1 Senator Michael Rohl.

Rohl compared digital data to that of medical records.

The bill passed the Senate on a 34-0 vote.  The bill now moves on to the South Dakota House.
