South Dakota House passes SB88(Bossly Bill)

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota House Commerce and Energy Committee on Wednesday heard testimony on SB88.  The bill clarify the procedure for a potential condemnor to examine real property absent the property owner’s permission.

Prime sponsor on the House side is Representative Karla Lems of Canton.

The bill was nicknamed the Bossly Bill because of what happened to Jared and Tara Bossly back in 2023.

There was no opposition testimony.  The bill passed the committee on a 11-0 vote.

On Thursday, the South Dakota House passed the bill on a 66-0 vote.  The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk for signature.  Out of both chambers, 100 legislators voted on this and not one nay vote took place in either one.
