NEW ORLEANS, L.A.(HubCityRadio)- The National Farmers Union held their annual convention in New Orleans, L.A. from March 7th through the 9th.
On Sunday, they elected Aberdeen farmer & rancher, Jeff Kippley to his third term as Vice President of the National Farmers Union.
Kippley was sworn in immediately afterwards.
Kippley talks about some of his goals for his next term.
“Getting a Farm Bill passed that will work for family farmers and ranchers is a top priority for Kippley. “We’d like to see the Farm Bill re-imagined to improve the safety net. What we have been doing for the last 30 years is not working. We need to get this done because we are seeing family farms and ranches disappear at an extreme rate.”
Kippley advocates for family farmers and ranchers to get involved in state and local policy. He’s also the Vice President of the South Dakota Farmers Union.
