The Celebration of Life for Richard Frewaldt, 73, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 12:00pm, Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Lake Herman State Park. Richard passed away at his home on February 28th, 2026.

Richard William Frewaldt was born March 19, 1952 to Bob and Donna Frewaldt in Madison, SD.

He grew up with his brothers Dale, David, Danny, and sister Nancy. Richard had many loves in life (Not just wives). These included family, friends, animals, cars, rummage sales, haggling, car tires, t-shirts, and canned meats.

He will be remembered for his fierce love, and amazing sense of humor which he shares with all of his offspring. Although he spent his last days in hospice care at home, we are comforted by the laughter and jokes we were still able to have with him during the rough times. He is finally back with the animals he loved so much in this life and is assuredly teasing whoever he is meeting again. He leaves behind so many who cherished him but he is reunited with his mom, dad, brother David, and so many others.

Richard is survived by his children, Lisa Frewaldt of Pennsylvania, Rachel Frewaldt of Aberdeen, SD, Lydia (Jason) Sandquist of Mellete, SD, Levi Frewaldt of Omaha, NE, Jacob Frewaldt of Brookings, SD, and bonus child, Vera Frewaldt of Arlington, TX, eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, brothers, Dale (Carole) of Madison, SD, Danny of Sioux Falls, SD, sister, Nancy Vickmark of Madison, SD, and a great number of nieces and nephews.
