ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Toward the end of Monday night’s Aberdeen City Council, City Manager Dave McNeil spent around thirty minutes addressing several topics.
On topic was the recent trip some members of the Aberdeen staff made to Pittsburg, Kansas.
McNeil talks about the biggest takeaway he took from the trip.
Councilwoman Erin Fouberg gave high praise to how Pittsburg has recovered since the 2008 recession.
They are in the process on working on a final report to be released at a later date.
McNeil described the incident that happened at Aberdeen Central High School last Friday.
Parents expressed concern about their students attending the school but wasn’t allowed in the building during the lockdown. McNeil explains why.
Aberdeen Police Chief Tanner Jondahl talks about the reports they and the school are working on.
This meeting is the final meeting for Public Works Director Stu Nelson. He will be retiring on Friday. McNeil had high praise for him.
Nelson comments on his last major act which is the process for the new Public Works building.
There will be a retirement party schedule for Wednesday from 2-4pm at the K.O.Lee Public Library. The public is invited to attend.
McNeil announced there will be a work session prior to next Monday’s meeting addressing Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department beginning at 4pm.
