Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern baseball played their final home game against Wayne State in a midweek match up Tuesday. The Wolves lost two close ones against the Wildcats.

GAME ONE: NSU 3, WSC 5
- Early in the game, the Wildcats and the Wolves traded blows with five total runs in the first three innings
- Wayne put one up in the top of the first to set the tone; Northern’s Drew Benson batted in Dalton Kesti to get NSU on the board
- WSC responded with a run off a passed ball; they went up 2-1 after two
- After adding a third run in the third, a Collin Lott sacrifice fly got Kesti to touch the plate for the second time
- The Wildcats took their biggest lead of the game with back-to-back left field home runs in the top of the fourth inning; WSC ahead 5-2
- Dillon Castellanos scored on a two-out RBI single from Benson to round out Norther’s scoring

- Carson Zimmel pitched a three up, three down to start the game and get the Wolves’ offense on the field
- With the bases loaded and one out, Northern threatens to score first; Wayne completes a double play to end the inning
- The Wildcats immediately put up two runs in the second, one of which was on a Wolves’ error
- The second and third innings had NSU go three up, three down; they brought Collin Lott in during the bottom of the fourth on a Mateo Tahsini RBI
- In the sixth, Wayne State added two more runs to stretch their lead to 4-1
- Easton Rerick homered to right center in an effort to bring the Wolves back
