WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – Congress was only able to pass a continuing resolution just before the end of the fiscal year last week. An earlier budget agreement fell apart when Democrats objected to President Trump moving over $4 billion from defense spending to construction of the southern border wall.
South Dakota Senator John Thune says the President can move some of those funds around.
Thune says he has been a defender of military spending.
Thune says its another case of Congress delegating away its authority.
The Defense Authorization Bill was set at over $700 billion earlier this year.
