Aberdeen Police Department respond to threats made towards Central High School on Wednesday

ABERDEEN, S.D. (Hub City Radio)

On 5/13/26 at approximately 1134 hours, the Brown County Communications Center received a call from a blocked phone number making threats toward Aberdeen Central High School. Law enforcement immediately responded and worked with ACHS staff to investigate the threat.

The investigation indicated the call appeared to be a swatting incident placed by an organization known for making similar calls across the country. After the investigation was completed, ACHS was cleared to return to normal operations.

We would like to thank the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Brown County Emergency Management for their assistance in responding to this matter.
