Congressman Johnson address E15 and China

WASHINGTON, D.C.(HubCityRadio)- On Wednesday, the U.S. House debated a bill looking to put E15 gas on a year round basis.

Congressman Dusty Johnson talked to KSDN during the debate to provide an update on the bill.

For now only a few businesses in South Dakota cities offer E15 fuel as a part of their package.  Johnson believe by making this year round would result in a larger number of these pumps to appear.

AAA as of Wednesday has unleaded gas sold nationwide at $4.51 a gallon and South Dakota at $4.22 a gallon.  There’s talk about possibly freezing the gas tax temporarily on both the federal and state level in order to address this.  Congressman Johnson weighed in on that.

Congressman Johnson also addressed whether China should be allowed to purchase land near military bases across the country.

This week, President Donald Trump is visiting China to meet with the Chineses President Xi Jingping.  Johnson was asked about the possibility to work trade deals with them.

The U.S. House passed HR1346 which address E15 fuel on a 218-203 vote.
